Privacy Policy

ShipPeek helps online resellers see their true net selling margin while creating a marketplace listing and warns them before publishing at a loss. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your information.

The short version

• ShipPeek does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data.
• All margin calculations happen locally in your browser. Nothing about your listings leaves your device.
• The only data stored is your own settings and a cached “paid/free” flag, kept locally via the browser’s storage API.

What the extension reads

On the supported marketplace listing pages only (eBay and Poshmark), ShipPeek reads the fields of the listing form you are filling out — such as price, category, shipping cost, and package weight — to compute your estimated net margin. This data is used only in-memory to display the margin badge and is never sent anywhere. ShipPeek is read-only: it does not modify, submit, or automate your listings.

What the extension stores

Locally (browser storage, on your device): your settings (default item cost, returns buffer %, promoted-listing %, ship-from zone, per-category fee overrides) and a cached boolean indicating whether your subscription is active. This data is never transmitted to us. We have no servers that receive your data.

Payments (ExtensionPay / Stripe)

Paid subscriptions are handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe to process payments. ShipPeek never sees or stores your payment card details. ExtensionPay stores the email you use to pay, solely to manage your subscription (see ExtensionPay’s privacy policy). ShipPeek only receives a yes/no “is this user paid?” answer, which it caches locally. The extension includes a content script that runs on extensionpay.com — this is required by ExtensionPay to confirm subscription status, and it does not run on any other site outside the supported marketplaces.

Permissions and why we need them

• storage — save your settings and the cached paid/free flag on your device.
• Host access to *.ebay.com and *.poshmark.com — read the listing form you are creating so we can compute your margin. The extension only runs on these sites.
• Content script on extensionpay.com — required by our payment provider to confirm subscription status.

ShipPeek requests no broad permissions (no <all_urls>, no tabs), runs no remotely-hosted code, and includes no analytics or tracking.
